Town Halls

Our Mogadishu program outreach aims to influence and leverage policymakers, lawmakers, ministries and decision makers in three branches of the government namely; legislative, executive and the judiciary. We organize and host series of monthly roundtable, town-hall forums. In each roundtable discussion, we pick and address topic of national importance and we invite relevant minister, MP, director general, permanent secretary, ambassadors and mid-ranking government officials. Our roundtable and townhall series offer a unique opportunity for citizens to speak, ask and challenge leaders in decision-making positions. Our events are open for every citizen, irrespective of his/her views, and our application process is straightforward. Over the last two years, our outreach in Mogadishu attracted — and impacted — more than 6 million viewers with most of them are youngsters.

We have a tailored program that is designed to focus on state and regional level. Our program includes series of townhall, roundtable and trainings sessions for state-level administrations. The overreaching aim of our regional outreach program is to strengthen and facilitate an honest conversation on the center-periphery debate, explore contentious issues including resource-sharing and power allocation. Through our structured approach, we convene open- and closed-door sessions and events that bring together marginalized Vs. mainstream voices to discuss issues of common interest and navigate through a consensus.
